Llyn y Fan Fawr & Fan Brycheiniog
MMM October. We plan to climb the tallest of the the Carmarthen & Brecon Fans, Fan Brycheiniog on 21st October. The mountain is the 3rd tallest Brecon beacon and lies at the edge of the Black mountain and not far from Cray Reservoir. This will test the stamina of the new member Morgan (and his old man who will be carrying him! ).
Tryfan
MMM November. Details of the walk (it ain't no walk actually) Tryfan can be a cow at the best of times, but in November it might be unworkable. So don't even contemplate it if you don't have good winter walking gear, a head for heights, confidence using your hands and feet (it's a grade 1 scramble). Our Bunkhouse is located at the foot of Tryfan mountain in Snowdonia.
Tintern Abbey
August MMM. Tintern Abbey holds a special place in my being for many reasons and for those of you that have not been before its a must. This walk is a 4 hour - 7 mile yomp, however it does cover some hills up on to Offas Dyke - The Devils Pulpit! Tintern and Brockwier both have fine pubs for a post walk drink and food.... a wander around inside the ruins of Tintern Abbey is also on the cards with some other craft shops too.
